This is a joint I did last fall over Lil Wayne and Jay-Z’s “Mr. Carter” beat. What I did with this is tell a story in the verses and make the hook about a father who wasn’t there. Got a good response before and thought it would be fitting to repost it today, so check out out.

Articulate - The Illest Out Artwork

Articulate steps into the producer as well as rapper role on this one, flipping the same sample from Jay-Z’s “DOA (Death of Autotune)” into a dope Baltimore Club influenced track. Add Articulate’s mezmorizing flow and a Max B sample for the hook and the outcome is a banger! Says Articulate:

A lot of times when a hot new record comes out everyone wants to be the first to hop on the instrumental, so five minutes after the song drop’s theres already 30 freestyles over a loop of it. That’s cool sometimes, but it gets boring after a while, so instead of doing that with Jay-Z’s DOA track I wanted to be a little more original with it and create a true remix.

Articulate B-Town Flyer

A lotta people heard this joint already, but this is my website so I’lllll post whatever I feel lol. In case you haven’t heard it, I flipped Tabi Bonney’s “Hero” joint into a Baltimore Club track that also samples “Hands Up Thumbs Down” and rapped over it, so check it out.
